The ALLIGATOR® solid-wall anchor replaces old-fashioned wedge, sleeve, drop-in, adhesive, and epoxy anchors. It provides the strongest possible holding power and is ideal for use in concrete, brick, masonry, stone, block, and tile over drywall.
ALLIGATOR anchors do NOT spin and do NOT countersink into the wall because of the special shape of their head and because of their anti-rotation fins; so, you can use a screw gun. For maximum holding in high compression strength substrates, use a screw with a diameter equal to the drill diameter.
ALLIGATOR® anchors work even if they hit a hollow or cavity in the wall. The screw thread locks into the "teeth" in the anchor for vibration proof and shock proof holding.
All holding values given below are per anchor with the screws listed. All pull-out values are independent laboratory tests done according to U.S. Government standards. They should be used as guides only. The age, condition, and capacity of the substrate must be considered.
Industry standards recommend 1/4 of ultimate test load. Holding strength for an ALLIGATOR solid-wall anchor varies directly with the strength and condition of the wall material–and inversely with variations in hole diameter and the distance of the load from the wall.
