Use Threaded Inserts to anchor precast concrete panels to steel frames. Threaded Inserts permit anchor bolts to be removed and reinstalled as often as required and can be used to lift removable concrete slabs or vault covers. Since Threaded Inserts can be accurately laid-out, they are especially useful for mounting equipment or fixtures which must be precisely located. Threaded Inserts offer a clean and unobtrusive appearance without protrusion beyond the face of the concrete. In addition, Threaded Inserts are more reliable than typical expansion anchors and they avoid the risk of damaging concrete when drilling anchor holes.
This is a 2-piece system. The #446 Plugs are nailed to a form and the #444 Inserts are screwed onto the Plugs. After the concrete is poured and the forms are removed the #446 plug can be removed with a plyers exposing the insert cast into the concrete.
